Minutes from Eclipse Board Meeting March 25

5:10 Attendance sheet passed / Meeting called to order by Hope Swoffer.

Hope asked Amber Zellweger to keep the minutes- Sallie Stuvek was out of town on a family matter.

CRAD

Nancy Gibson spoke regarding the CRAD Committee
Goal - To go to board with presentation in May . A model for coaches ...focus on pay structure, requirements for being paid, how to recruit and what the club can offer to keep a coach and improve coaching.

Midnight Sun Tournament

Gave the following list of things that needed a chairperson ASAP.....
Tournament Book-suggested that someone speak with Dennis Miller
Sponsorship/Donations--Linda Colang -chair
Registration /Credentials--Marsha Woods, Polly Kadel, Cindy Vredenburg-Chair
(Valerie asked that they consider having participating teams send in two weeks prior to game a copy of their team book so that there would be no need for credentials other than to check in when team arrives and pick up game schedules as well as the copies of player information that they had mailed in. Valerie believes this would cut down on last minute concerns of not having all the information by tournament time. The teams would be notified well in advance if papers were out of order or information missing.

T-shirts- Valerie has looked into having North West Design to do this. Some debate as to who we should use to print these up. Valerie says we will make 10% profit from sales of shirts through North West Design.

comments from Valerie:

Every team needs to be involved if they want to benefit from the profits. Need to discuss how the money will be split/used for.
Question raised as to how much the club could make doing this....stated 3- 4,000 depending on Advertising.

Gary Bender will speak with Bruce Carr regarding how many games our fields can accommodate.

Question raised- Should we consider having rec. players at this tournament?? Gary Bender states that could be considered if we can't draw in enough comp. teams

Announcement that Greg had just returned from Anchorage and had receive the Alaska Girls Soccer Coach of 2000.

Car Wash tickets will be handed out at the Lock in.

Amber Zellweger spoke regarding the lock in - asked that teams/ parents supply chips and pretzels just to have enough munchy food for the girls. At present time there were 18 teams pre-registered and 92 girls expected.

91 Try -Outs---March 30th 7-9 @ Ladd and March 31 3-5 @ Woodriver. New team to be formed and the 90's need two players also.

Greg Gibson spoke- tell your coaches to get together a list of teams they do/don't want to play for the summer and get that information in to FYSA. Also let fysa know if there are dates you don't want to be scheduled..such as before or after out of town tournaments.
2. Greg requests that we get parent in put regarding try outs. If a player tries out in the fall to play up..it is understood that they are on the summer team. If they later learn of a younger team being formed should they be allowed to try out for the younger team. Should this be stated in Policies and Procedures.
Should we consider just having age appropriate teams.
This is to be discussed at the next meeting.

Next meeting will be April 22. Location to be announced.
