In response to questions from last months meeting, it was announced that
Jennifer Smith is the 90s coach for the up-coming season. Further questions
on this matter should not be directed to the board by parents. They should be
handled through the team manager/parent.
FAC Lock-in information. It was decided that not everyone would pay in advance.
Girls would be allowed to pay at the door and present their consent form.
Anyone who doesnt show up would forfeit their money.
The following people are currently responsible for the following segments of
the lock-in. Hope S.- door
Beverly L. food
Amber Z- door prizes
Raffles. It was reported by Linda C. that the club has a permit pending. The
member list was faxed to the Dept. of Revenue and any team may use the permit.
In general discussion, it was felt that $10.00 tickets are too high and $5.00
tickets might be more easily sold. Anyone using the permit must pay !% of their
profit to the gaming account. Before using the permit check the State requirements.
Gaming Accout
balance- Their was general discussion about the gaming account balance which
is fairly substantial. A motion was made to form a committee to oversee its
dispersal to teams and girls. The motion failed. No decision was made about
what to do with the money. Some suggestions were:
pay for club expenses
pay tournament fees
buy socks
pay for coaches travel fees
not charging a try out fee, etc.
Gary Bender read some ideas that were generated from the November meeting.
Car washes- There will be no Eclipse club car washes. Teams can still have them
if they wish.
Jerseys- There was discussion about whether the club should have on common,
sleeveless jersey. It was general agreed that each club could choose the jersey
most appropriate for the team age as long as it was white/purple and maintained
the Eclipse colors.
Uniform Orders- Laura reported that uniform order forms would be out by the
end of the month.
Summer Clinics-We are currently planning with the coaches from Georgia, and
the Fairbanks clinic will probably happen starting June 30. Steve Keist ? is
working on this and we should know soon. Each team representative should be
advised.
Gym time - Gary Bender would like the board to set a policy about the use of
gym time. As an example, younger girls need earlier times and can use the smaller
gyms. Older girls could have later times and larger gyms. Not all teams have
equal gym time. After discussion, a motion was made, seconded, and passed
which outlined the following procedure for allocating gym time.
As soon as gym time is given to the club a coaches/managers meeting will be
called.
The coaches/managers or their designee will work out fair gym situations.
Teams not represented will have to take the times which are left.
Girls playing up an age group - The 91 team has 9 players who are correct for
their age group and 9 who are too young. 92 tryouts should happen soon.
No coach has been chosen yet. Concern was expressed about the board policy which
requires 12 players to be the correct age in their group per team. It was noted
that other clubs are having their tryouts and the 91s should have
their tryout soon. The concern was noted and the discussion was tabled.
The next meeting was set for March 10, 2002
The meeting was adjourned at 5:20 p.m.
